Augustus Ramsey Tyndall was also known as Gus Tyndall.
He was born on 13 March 1891 at Cushing, Woodbury County, Iowa.
He was the son of Lemuel Lemar Tyndall and Elizabeth Jane Ramsey.
Augustus Ramsey Tyndall married Effie Zola Anderson on 11 September 1912.
Augustus Ramsey Tyndall died on 30 October 1940 at Cushing Hospital, Cushing, Iowa, at age 49; Died after 3rd stroke.
He was buried in October 1940 at Ida Grove, Ida County, Iowa; Lot East half of Lot 1, Sec. 536.
He was educated in the Cushing Public Schools and later in the Railroad School at Valparaiso, Indiana.
At the age of 21, he married Effie Zula Anderson of Cushing. For five years after his marriage, Gus farmed south of Cushing. Then he joined the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. Over the next 22 years, he served as railroad station agent at Baltic, South Dakota, and in Iowa at Brunswick, Cushing, Breda, Moorhead, Arthur, and finally, from February 1939, at Correctionville. He was a member of the Order of Railroad Telegraphers. Gus was well-respected in his community as a person of high ideals, a good family man, and a loyal, dependable employee. As a pastime, he wrote poetry.
